Daily Devotional. But the Manifestation of the Spirit is given TO EVERY MAN to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the Word of Wisdom; to another the Word of Knowledge by the same Spirit; To another Faith by the same Spirit; to another the Gifts of Healing by the same Spirit; To another the Working of Miracles; to another Prophecy; to another Discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of Tongues; to another the Interpretation of Tongues: BUT all these worketh that one and THE selfsame SPIRIT, DIVIDING to every man severally AS HE WILL. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. As you have seen, these are the 9 GIFTS of the Holy Spirit, not the 9 demands, or the 9 “If you don’t have these 9 gifts working in you, you’re not a Christian”, foolishness. A gift is something OFFERED to you, and if you WANT to take it, it’s yours. Here comes the scary part that has done GREAT damage in Understanding just Who the Holy Spirit Is, and that is the Gifts with Tongues. One Gift is speaking in “Tongues” and the other is Interpreting Tongues. Just the thought of “tongue talking” sends even faithful Believers running. Let’s look at this from another direction. Look at the remaining 7 Gifts and learn to work with them. The Holy Spirit is FULL of GOoD stuff, so use what you like and leave the rest alone. But please be Careful. If you don’t like / want anything to do with Tongues, that’s OK, JUST DON’T TALK BAD ABOUT SOMETHING YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND, that the Holy Spirit has for those who DO want those Gifts. Read The Word, all 9 Gifts ARE from the Lord Himself, please don’t talk “bad” about the Lord, IT’S NOT CHRISTIAN. Those 9 Gifts are like tools on a toolbelt, use the right tool for the job and leave the others alone. You can be “Christian” with, AND WITHOUT, talking in Tongues. It’s not required, IT’S OFFERED FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT TO ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED. Not interested? Not a problem. It doesn’t make you any less a Believer, either way. Talk to the Lord about it, either way, you will, Be Blessed.
