Daily Devotional. Then he (Nehemiah) said unto (all the people), Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is Holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; FOR THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH. And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them. Nehemiah 8:10,12. The people had just heard all about The Law and what it meant, and many were very sad, until it was explained to them that the Law was not a bunch of Rules and Regulations designed to keep them under bondage to a mean God, but that the Lord had designed The Law to be a Barrier to keep the ravages and Death of Sin out of their Lives. Once they Understood that their Safety was all wrapped up IN The Law, their sadness was turned into Joy because it showed them that the Love of the Lord was all over them IN The Law. It’s a time to Rejoice and be Glad for inside The Law, (now inside of Christ), is where the Lord keeps all His Joy and Peace in such an Abundance that it spills over into His People so much, that there is more than enough to share with all those who are lacking. To see The Love and Provisions the Lord has for His people, “The Joy Of The Lord”, is where the people get the Strength to Desirously WANT to Follow the Lord wherever He may Lead them. Obedience in Christ is where Exceedingly Abundant Joy and Peace reside, and Christ is more than Happy to share these will all who will simply ask. When Dad says, “Son, don’t go and play in the highway, it will kill you”, that’s not an Order designed to take away your fun, it’s his Love and Protection to keep you from all harm. To Know this kind of The Father’s Love is enough to make and keep anyone Full of The Joy Of The Lord. This Joy will keep you at Peace with the Lord no matter what kind of Situations and Circumstances are swirling all around you, as you will Eternally, Be Blessed.
