Daily Devotional. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10b. The Lord is very Gracious and very Merciful to give equally to every person on this earth, life. This is the “Life” that makes this physical body work. Without this life, the body dies and goes back to dust. Sinner or Saved, everyone starts equally when it comes to this life. You’re born, you live life, and you die as life leaves. So what is “life more abundantly”? That is the Life a spiritually dead man gets upon Salvation. When you become saved, one of Christ’s, one of His obedient Followers, He gives you a spiritual life that doesn’t come from this world. It comes straight from Christ. It’s a life in the Spirit that will stay with you for all of Eternity. When life in the body stops, the body stops dead in its tracks. And this only affects the physical body. Again, saved or sinner, the body will die and stop. For the Christian, his life in the Spirit, in Christ, goes on for eternity. This is the “Abundant Life” Christ has for His. This abundant life affects you the moment you’re saved, and on to all eternity. This Life is hard to describe because it encompasses all the Attributes of Christ, into us, as we learn to live in Christ. This Life is continually growing in us as we lose self, flesh, and the old man nature, gain, and grow in, the nature of Christ. It’s a lifelong process of growing. What does this life look like in practical everyday life? Just look at the Life of Christ from infant to the ascension in the clouds. All that is THE Life in Christ. We are to continually strive for it, AND NEVER GIVE UP. Just how close can we get to Christ? I don’t know, but keep going for it all anyway. Don’t settle for less Life than Christ has for you. Keep going until Jesus says, “That’s enough, that’s all the Life you can believe for”. Until He stops you from Growing in His Life, You, Be Blessed.
