Daily Devotional. And Jesus increased in Wisdom and Stature, and in Favor with God and man. Luke 2:52. Here’s the set up. Jesus on Earth was 100% God and 100% man. It’s been taught by some that Jesus “set aside” His Godly Abilities, and I’ll explain that now. The teaching is, if Christ is our Perfect Example, and He was tempted like other men, (AND NEVER GAVE IN, NEVER SINNED), then it would make sense that He would also be Led by the Holy Spirit, as we are. His Prayer Life was such the He was (filled) with the Holy Spirit, Knew His Voice and learned to Obey that Still Small Voice from the very beginning. He had the Godly Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding of His death on the cross, the when, how and why, yes, but His day to day doings were in Exact Obedience to daily Fellowship with His Dad, as instructed by the Holy Spirit. As a very crude example, He had to learn everything just like you and I, and choose to do so with such Determination, He was 100% right the first time and every time. He did not have the Sin Nature as we do, as His Blood was Pure and unstained with sin. As a man, all His Power, to multiply bread, cast our demons and walk on water, was all through Obedience to what The Father instructed Him to do. We can “learn” (a little mercy here) to do these things too, as the Father directs and the Holy Spirit Empowers us. All I’m trying to say is Christ learned as a man, and Obeyed Perfectly. Today, we can choose, (or not), to Grow in Christ and CHRISTLIKENESS as much, or as little, as we want. The results, through Christ, will be Godly, as He gets all the Praise and Glory. We can TRY to get something right, in our own strength, and it might “work” a little, but when we DO something, as led by the Holy Spirit and Empowered by Him, it will always come out Right and Godly, and those who see it won’t be able to deny it was the Power of God.
